Hello and welcome to another addition to Skal News. A lot has happened during the past few weeks, since our last communication. We seem to have moved from Spring into Summer, competing against Nature in the garden, changing our wardrobes to summer garments, and generally feeling more energetic. This was true when more than 30 of us met at the Annual Skal Skittles Match at the Wellow Golf Club. It was amusing to watch 30 fully grown-up people split into two teams of 15 each engaging in a serious game of knocking down 9 blocks of wood shaped like stunted cigars with rubber balls the size of cannon balls. At first glance it looked easy to knock down nine skittles spaced between a six feet wide skittles alley, from some 24 feet distance with three throws down the alley. We played two "legs" and both were won by the ladies team.
