Message from Roger Edwards, Skål Guernsey President
Well done everyone. Despite the trials and tribulations of the past 12 months, we all seem to have welcomed in 2017 relatively unscathed.
Our New Year Family Lunch in the convivial surroundings of the new-look Copenhagen Bar and Grill at the Hotel de Havelet went with a swing, with party hats and crackers very much in evidence.
Our intrepid band of some 14 members and guests even included our youngest potential new recruit in the shape of Isla, the beautiful (and incredibly well behaved) granddaughter of Past President Janie - to whom we extended our grateful thanks for conducting the Crazy Raffle.
Our next official event is the AGM and dinner to be held at Moore's Hotel on Friday, February 17. I hope that as many of you as possible will be able to attend this important event at which our future for the next 12 months and beyond will be discussed.
May I remind you that only fully paid-up members for 2017 will be eligible to vote at the meeting. So, if you intend to do so, please contact Ken with your subs as soon as possible. As outlined in our last newsletter, your Council has set the 2017 rate at £55, which is a considerable saving on our actual payment to Skal National and International.
I look forward to seeing you all again at our February event and wish you all the happiest (and healthiest) of New Years.
