CLUB NEWSLETTER MARCH
FEBRUARY MEETING
The White Hart Hotel, Braintree was the venue for the lunch meeting and EGM on Sunday the 21st February. Maurice and Sheila, Christine & Tony, Ron, David P, Marisa and John & Doreen and her two friends Anthea and Keith were those present. A good turnout for the first meeting of the year. May it continue.
Unfortunately, the standards previously enjoyed at this hotel were not present on this occasion.
Thanks to their generosity, the raffle raised a total of £30 which has been donated to the Skal International Haiti Relief Fund. Thanks also to those who donated prizes; members are asked to provide prizes for our raffles as and when possible as this avoids Ron having to spend part of the proceeds.
With seven members present, there was a quorum for the EGM which was convened in order to approve the accounts for 2009 which were not available at the AGM in January. The accounts showed that the club had an excess of income over expenditure of £58.84 whereas in 2008, there had been a loss of £43.48 Acceptance of the acccounts was proposed by David Poole and seconded by Ron Avery and approved unanimously. Any member requiring a copy of the accounts would they please let Maurice know.

200 CLUB
The support from members has been exceptional so far with Maurice, Ron, Marisa, Bill, David Poole, Doreen and Gill having bought shares and together with the investment by the club, our total stands at 13 and we are currently in the lead for the top club although it is still early days. So we are on a roll. Those members who have so far not joined the bandwagon, there’s still time in order that we may achieve a 100% member take up.

Sunday 21st March at the Lion & Lamb, Little Canfield. This is situated on the B1256 between Dunmow and Takeley. Meet at 12.30 for 1 pm. Tel: 01279 870257.

Thursday 15 April and we are ‘going Chinese’. The venue is The Banquet 1408 restaurant at 342 London Road, Stanway (adjacent to the Wyevale Garden Centre) - 7 for 7.30 pm. Tel: 01206 211588. Ample car parking.
