THE SEEDS OF ANOTHER GOOD YEAR Happy New Year! Hope the festive season was good for you too. I’m trying to keep the season going by keeping the star alight until 12th Night and the three wise men move closer to the stable. Then it all goes away again for another year and the bank balance can breathe a sigh of relief at me not dipping into it for a while. The cats are truly fed up with turkey and ham scraps and I’m running out of ideas for leftovers.
Some of you may remember the Irish saltman, Hilary Murphy. He made his usual phone call over the Christmas period and seemed well enough and in reasonable health despite still getting through a quarter pack of salt a week! Still full of Skål and memories of Nationals and Internationals but don’t think he gets out and about much now. Also heard from Mabel Pillay in Singapore, she and Gerry seem happy enough although there was mention of sticks to aid mobility. Comes to us all!
