Webmaster - Maurice SteerGet in touch: Past President of Cambridge, and holder of the 200 club portfolio for the National Executive until his retirement in January 2012 Started in the travel industry with the Polytechnic Touring Association in 1954 and spent the first 30 years of my career in the retail, business and tour operating sectors. In the mid 1980’s, I changed direction and entered the field of education as a lecturer in travel and tourism. In 1994. I returned to tour operating and set up my own company to provide sales and product training for a number of specialist operators. including All Canada Holidays and Elite Vacations. I joined the Skål Club of Cambridge & East Anglia in 1969 and was elected to the committee in 1971. I served on the committee for 25 years most of which as either President (3 times), Secretary, Treasurer and/or National Delegate and in the mid 1980’s, I was co-opted on to the National Executive with the brief to re-write the National Rules. During these years, I attended numerous National Assemblies and several International Congresses. For a number of personal reasons, I left Skål at the end of 2000 and re-joined the Cambridge & East Anglia club in 2007. In 2008 I was elected Vice-President of that club and also elected on to the National Executive Committee.
